Usage Amount of Polyoxyethylene octyl phenyl ether 25 EO
The type and amount of monomer vary according to the desired properties from the polymerization process and polymer dispersion.
OCTYL PHENOL 25 EO is generally recommended to use 1-5% over monomer.
OCTYLPHENOL ETHOXYLATES
Octylphenol Ethoxylates are nonionic surfactants composed of ethylene oxide adduct of Octylphenol.
Octylphenol Ethoxylates vary in physical appearance from clear or slightly hazy, colorless liquids to white solids, depending upon the level of ethoxylation.
Octylphenol Ethoxylates up to 6 Moles are water dispersible.
The high-mole Ethoxylates greater than 7 moles & above usually are soluble in water & also soluble in most Polar solvents.
In general, with increase in the ethylene oxide chain attached to Octylphenol hydrophobe increases the HLB value (water solubility), pour point, cloud point, density, viscosity, and flash point of the ethoxylate.
Octylphenol Ethoxylates can be used in a wide range of applications such as Emulsifiers & Wetting Agents, Industrial and institutional cleaners, Agricultural chemicals and Textile and leather processing.
Octylphenol Ethoxylates can also be used in ether sulfates and ether carboxylates, Cosmetics as well as other industrial and agricultural applications.
Octylphenol Ethoxylates can be used to make phosphate esters, which are useful as dispersants, low-foam emulsifiers, and anti-static agents.
Octyl Phenol Ethoxylates
Ataman Kimya’s OP Series (octyl phenol ethoxylate) of surfactants are nonionic surfactants produced by ethoxylation of octylphenol compounds.
These products are versatile surfactants known for their detergency, wetting, superior hard surface, metal cleaning and excellent emulsification performance.
OP Surfactants are used in many types of liquid, paste, and powder cleaning compounds.
This ranges from heavy-duty industrial cleaners to gentle detergents.
Octyl Phenol Ethoxylates are key ingredients in emulsifier mixtures used in emulsion polymerization and stabilizers of latex polymers.
OCTYLPHENOL ETHOXYLATES are also commonly used in pigment wetting and stabilization in coatings.
OCTYLPHENOL ETHOXYLATES are offered in a wide range of HLB to match your specific wetting and dispersing requirements.
OCTYLPHENOL ETHOXYLATE Series surfactants range in degrees of ethoxylation from 1.5 moles to 40 moles.

Some of these products are sometimes called Triton X15, Surfonic OP15, Igepal CA520, Lutensol OP-30, Cedepal and so on.
One potential drawback on OP Series surfactants is that they are alkylphenol compounds.
Alkylphenol compounds have come under recent scrutiny by government regulatory bodies for their lack of biodegradability and subsequent potential for marine toxicity.
Some applications can still use this technology, but many companies have decided to formulate away from these products as a result.
If you like the performance of OP Series surfactants but are looking for an environmentally friendly substitute, then ATAMAN has a variety of options for you to choose from.
